Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Presidential resolution has been issued titled "On Additional Measures for the Further Development of Medical and Wellness Tourism in the Republic of Uzbekistan".

According to the resolution, the following initiatives have been outlined:

A program named "Hospitality of Medical Services" will be implemented.

A quality monitoring system will be established for the services provided by state and private medical institutions, as well as sanatoriums and guest houses.

Medical tourism clusters will be organized to offer integrated services including "consulting – diagnostics – treatment – tour operation – transportation – medical translation."

A brand for Uzbekistan's medical and wellness tourism named "Avicenna" will be developed and consistently promoted.

The operation of hotel-type sanatoriums will be established, categorized by star ratings, along with a certification system.

Sanatorium and resort zones will be created in mountainous areas, regions with therapeutic mud deposits, and near water bodies classified as medicinal or containing thermal waters of health significance.

By 1 April 2025, private medical and wellness facilities connected to the automated special electronic program for guest accounting ("E-mehmon") via the internet will be exempt from paying the initial six-month subscription fee.
