Uzbekistan to host wine and grape exhibitions
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The 20th anniversary Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” (TITF-2014) will host the first International wine festival and exhibition “Sunny grapes”.

The decision on holding these events, directed at developing new direction of tourism, was adopted within the accession of Uzbekistan to International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV).

Accession to OIV envisages intensive cooperation of local vine and wine producers with international community in this area to introduce advanced technologies into local industry.

The wine festival will present potential of local wine industry, which should speed up development of the industry and wine tourism industry in Uzbekistan.

The organizers of the event - Uzvinprom-holding, Uzbektourism and Advertisement Agency Great Silk Road – want to help wine producers and tourism companies to establish cooperation and create necessary infrastructure for wine tourism - wine cellars, museums, tasting rooms, hotel rooms, specialty restaurants and souvenir shops.

The wine festival will be part of the TITF-2014, which will be held in Tashkent on 6-8 October 2014.

The exhibition “Sunny grape” will be held near Bogishamol café, which is located near Uzexpocenter. It is also planned to organize visits to grape plantations and wine plants in Parkent district of Tashkent region.
