Uzbekistan to host the World Championship among adults in hand-to-hand fighting

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – For the first time in Uzbekistan, the World Championship among adults in hand-to-hand fighting will be held.

These competitions, in which about 400 athletes from over 40 countries of the world will take part, are organized with the cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Federation of hand-to-hand combat of law enforcement agencies of Uzbekistan and the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Fifty judges of the international category are invited to judge the competition. Also, 30 international observers are expected to participate, the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs reports.

This sporting event in the entire history of hand-to-hand combat was held four times, and in 2019 in the city of St. Petersburg of the Russian Federation at the site of the M-1 Arena it was held for the first time, being the fifth - anniversary. Then the national team of Uzbekistan took the second place in the overall team classification, letting the representatives of the owners of the ring - the national team of Russia - go ahead.

This year 34 athletes will defend the honor of the Uzbekistan national team at hand-to-hand fighting competitions. World champions Jakhongir Jumaev and Olim Nomurodov will take part among them. The main goal of our athletes is to take first place in the team competition and raise the flag of Uzbekistan high on the world stage.
