Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- For the first time, the International Bakhshi Art Festival will be held in Termez from 5 to 10 April 2019, which will be held at the initiative of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Bakhshi - the personification of folk art, which for centuries has developed into musical and folklore traditions from generation to generation.

The original history and culture of any nation is expressed, first of all, in its oral work - folklore, folk epic. This is an invaluable source in the preservation and development of national values and traditions.

In order to widely familiarize the public with the unique patterns of Uzbek national art of bakhshi narrators, increase youth’s respect and interest in this type of art, strengthen friendship of fraternal peoples, expand the circles of creative ties and cultural cooperation internationally, the festival will be held in early April once in two years.
