Uzbekistan to expand digitalization of internal affairs services

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to digitalize a range of public services provided by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as outlined in a presidential resolution titled “On Comprehensive Measures for the Digital Transformation of the Internal Affairs System.”

According to the resolution, the transition to online services is scheduled to take place between June and November 2025.

The list of services to be made available in digital format includes: the release of impounded vehicles from penalty lots; registration of foreign nationals and stateless persons residing permanently in Uzbekistan when changing their place of residence from one address to another; editing of data on citizens’ permanent addresses and information about individuals registered at those addresses; issuance of licenses for the production, repair, and sale of civilian and service weapons and ammunition; issuance of permits for the acquisition, storage, carrying, transportation, collection, exhibition, import, and export of civilian and service weapons and ammunition; as well as permits for the import, purchase, storage, and transportation of explosives by road and rail; and permits for holding public events.

In addition, certain services will be offered in a proactive and composite format, with citizens receiving SMS notifications. These will include reminders ten days before the expiration of the storage period for license plates won at auction and stored free of charge for up to one year; ten-day alerts before the due date for vehicle inspections; and notifications of administrative fines.

This resolution is designed to elevate the digital ecosystem of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to a new level, leveraging modern digital solutions to meet the evolving demands of the times.
