Uzbekistan to expand digital TV coverage in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Unitary Enterprise “Center of radio communication, radio broadcasting and television” continues to introduce terrestrial digital TV broadcasting in Uzbekistan in standard of DVB-T.

The organization plans to install additional three digital TV transmitters to existing once in Tashkent city in 2010.

It is also planning to expand digital broadcasting through introduction and launch of pilot digital broadcasting transmitters in Samarkand, Andijan, Kashkadarya regions and Karakalpakstan.

Uzbekistan has started to introduce terrestrial digital TV broadcasting in 2008 through launch of pilot areas in Tashkent and Bukhara cities. Japan’s NEC and Germany’s Rohde & Schwarz supplied equipment to these zones.
