Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A roundtable meeting will be held in Tashkent on 25 May with the participation of Regional Director of the ICAO European and North Atlantic Office Nicholas Rallo.

The event will take place at Hyatt Regency Tashkent and will bring together heads of civil aviation organizations of Uzbekistan.

The main topic of the meeting will be the implementation of the State Strategic Action Plan of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024–2026 (Country Strategic Plan of Action — COSPA), developed jointly with ICAO. The document is aimed at modernizing the civil aviation system, improving flight safety, and implementing international standards.

During the roundtable, participants will review completed measures and identify priority areas for further cooperation with ICAO.

Special attention will be given to improving state oversight of flight safety, developing investigation mechanisms for aviation incidents and accidents, and implementing safety and quality management systems (SMS, QMS).

Another key area of discussion will be human resource development in the aviation sector. Plans include expanding training and qualification programs for aviation specialists with ICAO experts, as well as strengthening technical assistance and knowledge exchange.

The meeting will also address preparations for the Strategic Review Board (SRB/03), scheduled for 26–27 May in Bukhara.

The roundtable is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue between Uzbekistan’s aviation authorities and international experts, strengthening the country’s position as a regional aviation hub.
