Interim President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On measures on ensuring rapid development of tourism industry in Uzbekistan”.

The decree said that goal tasks and priorities of the state policy in the sphere in tourism for mid-term perspective are formation and gradual development of the concept on development of tourism and giving status of strategic sector of economy, which can help to development of the regions and related industries.

Among the main goals is also further improving of the legislation and normative acts in the field of tourism to form favourable conditions to activities of tourism entities, abolishing barriers, hindering to development of tourism, simplifying visa and registration procedures, passport and customs control, etc. Improvement of statistics in the field of tourism is also one of main tasks.

Implementation of complex measures on ensuring security of life and health of tourists at organization of tourism services, first of all in the places of their accommodation, catering sites and visits to tourism objects.

The decree said that among priorities are development and realization of national and regional programme on complex development of various forms of tourism, create new tourism routes in the regions.

Expansion of international cooperation in the sphere of tourism, first of all with UNWTO, international and national tourism organizations, introduction of international and inter-state standards and norms are among priorities of Uzbekistan.

Special attention will be also to development of objects and infrastructure of tourism industry, hotels and accomadations, information centers, transportation-logistics structure, construction and reconstruction of road-transport and engineer-communication infrastructure, roadside infrastructure along tourism routes.

It is also planned to improve image of Uzbekistan and promote tourism potential of Uzbekistan in foreign states, including via Internet and Tashkent International Tourism Fair.

The decree said that Uzbekistan will improve system of training specialists for tourism sector, including in the sphere of management and marketing.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev entrusted the State Committee on development of tourism of Uzbekistan (former Uzbektourism) to develop state policy in the sphere of tourism and a programme of concrete on realization of concept on development of tourism for 2017-2021 based on above-mentioned tasks and priorities.
