Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A Presidential resolution “On the Grand Celebration of the 1200th Anniversary of Imam Tirmidhi’s Birth” has been issued.

According to the resolution, the 1200th anniversary of Imam Tirmidhi’s birth will be widely celebrated in October 2024.

A comprehensive Program for the high-level celebration of Imam Tirmidhi’s 1200th anniversary will be approved, including:

- Preparation and publication of a multi-volume academic translation and commentary of Imam Tirmidhi’s works "Ash-Shama’il al-Muhammadiyya" and "Sunan Tirmidhi," based on Maturidi doctrine and Hanafi interpretation.

- Organization of an international scientific-practical conference in Tashkent in October 2024 on the theme "Islam – A Religion of Peace and Goodness," and a related international scientific-practical conference in Termez on "The Role of Imam Tirmidhi’s Scientific Legacy in Islamic Civilization."

In September-October 2024, a national scientific-practical conference on "The Scientific and Spiritual Heritage of Termez Scholars: Past and Present" will be held at Termez State University and the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan. Additionally, a competition for scientific articles about Imam Tirmidhi’s life and scholarly work will be organized.

The Muslim Board of Uzbekistan is recommended to hold a competition titled "Hadith Expert on Imam Tirmidhi’s Works" among imams and students of religious educational institutions and to appropriately reward the winners.
