Uzbekistan to boost production of non-food consumer goods
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Government of Uzbekistan adopted decision on organization of production of non-food consumer goods on the base of inactive, vacant and uncompleted objects of the state property.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyayev signed a corresponding resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers in early July 2010. The decision was adopted to stimulate fast development of industry and increase export potential of Uzbekistan’s regions, first of all due to deep processing of agriculture products.

The resolution approved list of inactive, vacant and uncompleted objects of the state property, which will be realized at zero redemption price to investors under concrete investment projects for organization on their base of non-food consumer goods production. The list included about 60 objects in various regions of Uzbekistan.

In line with the document, the objects will be realized to investors on zero redemption price through tenders.

State Property Committee and State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan will establish firm control over realization of objects and execution of obligations by investors.

The investors will receive state order, providing rights to objects, after they fully implement undertaken obligations, envisages reconstruction and completion of construction, organization of non-food consumer goods production.

If investors fail to carry out their obligations, the agreement on sale of object at zero redemption price will be abolished and the objects will be realized to other investors through tenders on zero redemption price.
