He said Uzbekistan plans to attract US$41.4 billion to realize over 400 investment projects with the programme on realization of important projects on modernization, technical and technological re-equipment within 2009-2014, which was approved with the resolution of the Uzbek President Islam Karimov on 12 March 2009. The programme envisages attracting foreign credits and investments of foreign financial institutions and companies for US$22 billion.
Shukhrat Vafaev said important place among the partners allocated to international financial institutions such as the Asian Development Bank (ADB), World Bank, Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and others.
The Uzbek official said the volume of attracted long-term investments for last several years exceeded US$35 billion.
