Uzbekistan to allocate US$200 million to support women’s entrepreneurship

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan has signed Resolution No. PQ-96, from 7 March 2025, titled "On Additional Measures to Support the Development of Women’s Entrepreneurship."

According to the document, an additional US$200 million will be allocated in 2025 to finance projects led by women. These funds will be distributed as follows:

A total of US$100 million will be designated for credit resources, which will be distributed among financial institutions as follows:

  • US$35 million will be allocated through the People’s Bank (Xalq Banki).
  • US$35 million will be distributed via the Business Development Bank (Biznesni Rivojlantirish Banki).
  • US$30 million will be provided through Microcredit Bank (Mikrokreditbank).

Another US$100 million will be directed toward the implementation of the "Mahalla Project" (Mаҳалла лойиҳаси). To support this initiative, commercial banks will attract funds from international financial markets, which will be used to finance various local initiatives.

Financial support for women entrepreneurs under the HAMROH program will be provided through funds allocated via the Business Development Bank. At the same time, resources from the People’s Bank and Microcredit Bank will be used to finance projects aimed at developing family businesses.
