Uzbekistan to abolish the practice of double responsibility against entrepreneurs

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the practice of double liability against an entrepreneur for one tax offense will be abolished in Uzbekistan.

According to him, now an entrepreneur receives a financial fine as an entrepreneur and an administrative fine as an individual.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev added that the fines applied to entrepreneurs should not lead to a halt in their activities. He stated that within three months all financial sanctions would be reviewed and fair norms would be established.

At the same time, he stressed that all disputes between the entrepreneur and the tax authorities are transferred to the competence of the administrative court. Also, according to him, any restrictions on the direct appeal of entrepreneurs to the court will be lifted. This will be reflected in the law, the head of state said.

The deadline for filing a claim against an entrepreneur regarding taxes will be reduced from the current 5 years to 3 years.

When making a court decision on the collection of tax or credit debt, penalties and interest will not be charged.

The President noted that entrepreneurs should annually spend 300 billion soums on the preparation of various reports. From 1 January 2024, duplicate and outdated reports will be discontinued. All reports will be submitted through a single electronic system. The paper form of reports will be abolished.
