Within the visit, the Uzbek delegation held meetings with representatives of General Council of Vosges Department, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the region, Syndicate of textile enterprises “Textile Union of East”, as well as textile companies as Garnier Thiebaut, Incopar, Ventron, Bragard SA, Tricotage des Vosges, Cetelor, Tenthorey.

In Lorraine region, the delegation held presentation of textile industry of Uzbekistan at General Council of Vosges Department, while the French side presented potential of their department. Vosges Department is center of French textile and the department possesses 50% of production capacities of France.

During the presentation, the Uzbek side presented information on social-economic development of Uzbekistan, ongoing reforms in economy, guarantees and preferences for foreign investors, investment climate, others.

In their turn, the French companies expressed their readiness to establish and develop cooperation with the Uzbek textile enterprises, including on direct supply of the Uzbek cotton and yarn.

After the presentations, the Uzbek and French companies participated in cooperation exchange and discussed issues of establishing and developing bilateral cooperation in concrete directions.

The Uzbek delegation also visited leading textile enterprises of the region and familiarized with activities of Garnier Thiebaut and Тenthorey.

The delegation got acquainted with the work of Fiber Competitiveness Techno Park, including scientific-research lab, experimental and research premises, new French technologies and textile equipment.

The Uzbek delegation also held negotiations with the President of General Council of Vosges Department Christian Poncelet. The sides discussed development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the department in textile enterprise, exchanged opinion on development of textile sector in Uzbekistan and France, etc.

In the result of the visit, Uzbekyengilsanoat and “Textile Union of East” signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

The delegation of Uzbekistan also met with the director-general of Textile Industry Union of France Emmanuelle Butaud-Stubbs. The sides discussed current state of world textile industry and opportunity of mutual investment and trade cooperation between Uzbekistan and France.

After the meeting, Uzbekyengilsanoat and Textile Industry Union signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation.

The Uzbek delegation held talks with representatives of Tisseray and the sides agreed to organize modern production capacity, placement of orders with the Uzbek firms, as well as cotton-fiber supply.

The sides also achieved preliminary agreement on production of ready textile goods under existing brands, supply of cotton yarn and fabrics, etc.
