The press service of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari said that freight turnover made up 11.6 billion tonnes-km in the first six months of 2012. At the same time, passenger turnover grew up to 8.2 billion passenger-km.

Cargo transportation through Toshguzar-Boysun-Qumkurgan railway line doubled in January-June 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 and reached 3.3 million tonnes. At the same time, the volume of transit cargo made up 1.9 million tonnes.

Enterprises of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari produced goods for 112.7 billion soums in six months of 2012, of which 56.5 billion soums were produced within the localization programme of Uzbekistan. They also manufactured consumer goods worth 20 billion soums in the reporting period.

In the reporting period, the company used US$5.9 million within the project on electrification of railway line “Maroqand-Qarshi”.
