Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan Temir Yollari (Uzbekistan Railways) is considering proposals not only from Talgo, but also from other manufacturers of electric trains. This was said in a statement of the company.

Earlier it was reported that the President of the Patentes Talgo company, Carlos Palacio Oriol, during a meeting with the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Spain, Jahongir Ganiev, expressed the company’s readiness to manufacture and deliver 4 more trains of the Afrosiyob high-speed train to Uzbekistan at the right time for the republic.

The statement of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari notes that now the company is considering proposals not only from Talgo, but also from other major manufacturers of electric trains.

Specialists of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari are studying the proposals of the world’s leading companies in this direction.

At the same time, the unique winter and summer climatic conditions of Uzbekistan are taken into account, the conditions and comfort of passenger transportation, passenger capacity and other aspects are being studied, the company notes.

The carrier recalled that the company has announced an international tender for the purchase of another 34 modern electric trains and is negotiating with various foreign companies.
