Uzbekistan Takes Part in World Ethnosport Festival in Istanbul

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The World Ethnosport Festival has opened in Istanbul, bringing together national sporting traditions and cultural heritage from countries around the world.

Representatives of the Ministry of Sport of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic and Paralympic Committees, and the country’s Ethnosport Federation are participating in the event.

As part of the festival, the Uzbek delegation held a meeting with the head of the World Ethnosport Confederation, Necmeddin Bilal Erdogan. The parties discussed the development of international cooperation and the promotion of national sports on a global scale.

The Uzbek delegation also held talks with the Minister of Sport of Georgia, Shalva Gogoladze.

Special attention at the festival was given to the demonstration of Uzbek national sports, including Uzbek jang sanati and kurash.

In addition, a traditional serving of Uzbek plov was organized for participants and guests of the event.
