Uzbekistan studies experience of Germany on savings mobilization
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Bank of Uzbekistan in cooperation with German Savings Banks Finance Group (Finanzgruppe) organized a seminar titled “Experience of Germany on mobilization of savings”.

The seminar was organized in order to implement resolution of the President “On priority directions on further reforming and increasing sustainability of financial-banking system of Uzbekistan in 2011-2015 and achievement of high international rating figures”.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan and Finanzgruppe implemented a projects “Mobilization of resources” and “Raising financial knowledge of population” in 2010-2013. Within the projects, various seminars were organized in regions of Uzbekistan on mobilization of population savings with participation of German experts.

Currently, the Uzbek banking system plans to increase deposits of population and legal entities by 2.5 times in 2011-2015. The banks offer 250 types of deposits. The banks also issue deposit certificates for individuals and legal entities.

Finanzgruppe expert Mikhail Berger participated at the current seminar and briefed about importance of saving in economy. He also talked about factors, which impact to effective organization of saving business in financial sector. He said that population deposits serve as important source of investments and stable growth of the gross domestic product.

German expert also talked about monetary factors such as inflation, nominal interest rates on deposits, real interest rates, taxation of interest income, etc. He also briefed the participants about non-monetary factors such as legal environment, trust to banking system, financial knowledge of population, etc.

The participants also discussed main directions of mobilization of resources to deposits, protection of banking secret, and other issues.
