Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- With the support of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, a delegation of Uzbekistan headed by the acting chairman of the board of Uzsuvtaminot JSC Dilshod Azimov visited Spain, Dunyo news agency reported.

During the visit, negotiations took place with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business of Spain, the Institute of Foreign Trade (ICEX) and the heads of companies such as Almar Water, IDOM, Hidroconta and WEG.

During the meeting at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, the Spanish side was presented with information on measures taken by the government of Uzbekistan in recent years to improve the drinking water disposal system.

The Spanish side reported on the possibility of providing grants to finance projects in Uzbekistan through the FIEM fund to develop the technical and economic base of public-private partnership projects with the participation of Spanish companies.

The parties agreed to develop and implement joint projects in the Samarkand region and Karakalpakstan.

Also, a round table and B2B negotiations were organized at the Institute of Foreign Trade in Madrid with the participation of representatives of leading Spanish companies operating in the field of drinking water and wastewater.

During the event, Spanish partners were provided with information about the sectoral reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan, the goals and objectives defined in the Uzbekistan-2030 Strategy, as well as promising projects. As a result of the meetings, agreements were reached with a number of Spanish companies to begin investment and technological cooperation.
