Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law aimed at protecting children from all forms of violence.
Under the new legislation, victims of violence can seek assistance from authorized bodies or courts and access free legal, social, psychological, medical, and other support services through specialized centers, including a free hotline.
The law grants victims the right to claim compensation for material damages and moral harm.
It also outlines the main directions of state policy for protecting children from violence, along with the roles and responsibilities of organizations working in this field.
The law is set to come into force on 15 May 2025.
