Uzbekistan Stock Exchange Discusses Hong Kong Integration
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbekistan Stock Exchange held talks with an official delegation from Hong Kong led by Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the participation of Hong Kong financial institutions in the development of Uzbekistan’s capital market, as well as the integration of infrastructure between the two stock exchanges.
Special attention was given to the access of Uzbek companies to international capital markets. The discussions covered opportunities for initial public offerings (IPOs) and dual listings through the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
The sides also discussed the development of financial instruments, including the bond market, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), tokenized assets and derivatives. The placement of Hong Kong financial products in the Uzbek market was also considered.
Participants noted during the meeting that the development of a modern capital market requires the introduction of instruments aligned with investor needs and market demand.
The Hong Kong side expressed readiness to support the entry of Uzbek issuers into international capital markets.
The parties also reviewed phased measures aimed at expanding practical cooperation between the exchanges.
The meeting marked another step toward deeper international integration of Uzbekistan’s capital market and strengthening its investment attractiveness.
