During the negotiations, the sides discussed issues of developing of bilateral cooperation in politics, trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian spheres between two countries.
Commenting the results of the talks, Lee Yong-joon said the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea have long-term historic relations. The countries have great interest for further development of relations based on equality and mutual beneficial cooperation. Common view of Uzbekistan and the Korean Republic on political issues create good precondition for development of collaboration in international arena.
Korean official noted that the Korean people respect and is interested in rich history, culture and traditions of people of Uzbekistan.
South Korean Deputy Foreign Minister said that he visited Samarqand during his current visit and acquainted with historic and architecture heritage of Amir Temur and Temur family period.
Lee Yong-joon underlined that the Korean citizens should visit Uzbekistan frequently to familiarize with historic cities, located at the Great Silk Road. He said that the launch of international logistic center in Navoi Airport and regular passenger flight of the Korean Air between Seoul and Tashkent will serve to increase South Korean citizens visiting Uzbekistan.
He said that after the visit to Uzbekistan, he felt that the Uzbek and the Korean people have very close history and culture. He added that the Uzbek and the Korean nations’ spirits and mentalities are close to each other.
Korean official said that the Government of the Republic of Korea is interested in development of friendship relations and cooperation with Uzbekistan. He wished further progress and well-being to the Uzbek nation.
