Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Uzbekistan has set a new record for the number of gold medals won at the Olympic Games.

Boxer Lazizbek Mullajonov, competing in the -92 kg weight category, secured the fifth gold medal for Uzbekistan at the Paris Olympics.

This achievement marks a historic moment for Uzbekistan, as it is the first time the country has won five gold medals at the Olympics. Previously, the record was set at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, where Uzbek athletes won four gold medals.

It is noteworthy that Uzbekistan’s athletes still have opportunities to win additional gold medals during the Paris Olympics.
