Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Budget and Economic Affairs Kobul Tursunov took part in the 17th international economic forum “Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum 2026,” held in Kazan.

The forum brought together representatives from nearly 100 countries, international organizations, business communities, and expert circles. Discussions focused on strengthening economic cooperation, expanding investment partnerships, improving transport and logistics corridors, and developing the digital economy.

Within the framework of the event, participants also discussed prospects for industrial cooperation, the development of green energy, the introduction of innovative technologies, and mechanisms of Islamic finance across the Eurasian space.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening interregional ties and implementing joint investment projects aimed at expanding trade and economic cooperation between countries.

Experts note that in recent years the Russia – Islamic World: KazanForum has become one of the largest international platforms for discussing cooperation prospects between Islamic countries and Eurasian states. The forum is also viewed as an important mechanism for promoting new transport routes, investment initiatives, and high-tech projects.

Participation of Uzbek representatives in such international events reflects the country’s increasing foreign economic engagement, expansion of international dialogue, and promotion of joint projects in investment, infrastructure, and sustainable development.
