Uzbekistan-Russia: a new stage of cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As part of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Russian Federation, the third Uzbek-Russian forum of interregional cooperation was organized on 4 October 2023. More than 700 representatives of the business community, heads of associations and unions from 12 regions of our country and 19 regions of Russia took part in it.

At the forum, the chairman of the Uzcharmsanoat association, F. Boboev, also visited the capital of Tatarstan, Kazan, as part of a delegation of the government of Uzbekistan, and held negotiations with the heads of large companies and enterprises of the Russian leather, footwear and fur industries.

In particular, negotiations took place with the General Director of the Association of Enterprises and Industrialists of the Republic of Tatarstan P. Pakhomov. During the meeting, issues of further expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan in the leather and footwear industry were discussed. The exchange of views touched upon the creation of new enterprises through investments from the Republic of Tatarstan. Proposals to take trade and economic relations to a new level were considered.

Negotiations also took place between the Uzbek Ravon Taraqqiyot Orzusi LLC, Amira Textile LLC and the Russian company BARS. The issue of establishing cooperation on the supply of leather and rubber footwear produced in our country to Tatarstan was considered.

Within the framework of the third interregional cooperation forum Uzbekistan-Russia, a memorandum was signed between the Uzcharmsanoat association and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan on the development of trade and economic relations and the implementation of joint projects in leather and footwear and lush fur industries.

There was also a meeting between the chairman of the association F. Boboev and the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan L.G. Yanov. The issue of expanding the supply of leather, footwear and fur products produced in Uzbekistan to Tatarstan was discussed. An exchange of views took place on the prospects for implementing joint projects and increasing export-import indicators.

As a result of the meeting, the Russian side decided to allocate retail outlets for the creation of retail stores for leather and footwear enterprises in our country.
