Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.cpm) -- The Technical Committee for Standardization STQ 4 "Tourism and Cultural Heritage" under the Committee on Tourism under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change has developed the state standard O’Z DSt 3220:2023 "Tourist services. Accommodation facilities. General requirements". 

This state standard was adopted by the order of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation No. 05-1559 from 7 July2023 and registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 195 on 9 August 2023. The standards will come into effect from 11 November.

Specialists of the Institute of Tourism Development, the Association of Hoteliers of Uzbekistan actively participated in the development of this standard together with members of the technical committee for standardization STQ 4 "Tourism and Cultural Heritage". The requirements included in the state standard were agreed with the business representatives of Hilton, Hampton by Hilton, Hyatt Regency Tashkent, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.

The standard has been approved by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

The state standard O’Z DSt 3220:2023 establishes general requirements for accommodation facilities and services provided in them. This state standard lists the types and types of accommodation facilities. In accordance with this, accommodation facilities are divided into hotels and similar accommodation facilities, specialized accommodation facilities, individual accommodation facilities and others.

This state standard specifies the requirements for the building and its adjacent territory, technical equipment and equipment, room stock, technical equipment of rooms, equipment of rooms with furniture and inventory, sanitary and hygienic equipment of rooms, sanitary facilities for public use, public premises, services, personnel and their training, information support.

Since the introduction of the new state standard, O’z DSt 3220:2017 "Tourist services. Accommodation facilities. General requirements", approved by the decision of the Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 05-881 from 21 September 2017, is considered invalid.
