Uzbekistan Repatriates Its Citizens from the Middle East Conflict Zone with Turkmenistan’s Support

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, Uzbekistan is actively taking measures to ensure the safe return of its citizens who have found themselves in potentially dangerous areas, according to the Dunyo news agency.

Turkmenistan is acting as a strategic partner in this humanitarian mission by providing its territory for transit operations. Border checkpoints, railway stations, and airports have been equipped to support the swift and safe evacuation process. The Turkmen side is making a significant contribution to international humanitarian relief efforts.

Under the instruction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, round-the-clock operational headquarters have been established at the country’s diplomatic missions in Iran and Turkmenistan. Their primary objective is to coordinate efforts to ensure the safe return of Uzbek citizens located in Iran, transiting through Turkmenistan.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Tehran is maintaining constant contact with citizens and managing the logistics of their movement.

Meanwhile, the diplomatic mission in Ashgabat, in cooperation with official Turkmen authorities, is organizing the reception of citizens at the border, handling visa and transportation issues, and ensuring their smooth repatriation.

To date, around 60 Uzbek citizens have successfully returned home. The evacuation process is ongoing, and the statement emphasizes that no citizen will be left without attention or support.

This operation is a clear demonstration of Uzbekistan’s new foreign policy doctrine, which prioritizes the protection of the rights and interests of its citizens.

At the same time, it highlights the strong neighborly relations and mutual understanding among the countries of Central Asia in times of crisis.
