Uzbekistan Renewable Energy Reaches 37% of 25 GW

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s total installed electricity generation capacity stands at 25 gigawatts, while the share of renewable energy sources reaches 37%, officials said.

This was reported by Akbar Mukhamedjanov, Director of the National Scientific Research Institute of Renewable Energy under the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

According to him, the country’s energy sector continues to develop with a focus on increasing the share of green generation.

He noted that the strategic objective is to raise the share of renewable energy in the country’s electricity production structure to 54% by 2030.
