Uzbekistan reduces additional charges for excess electricity and gas consumption

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Presidential Decree “On Measures for the Implementation of Tasks Defined in the Fourth Open Dialogue of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with Entrepreneurs” has been issued.

According to the Decree, as part of the Program to implement tasks defined in the 2024 Open Dialogue of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with entrepreneurs, the following will be established:

- A list of legislative acts to be developed.

- A plan of practical measures.

Starting from 1 November 2024:

- All commercial banks and microfinance organizations will be involved in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises based on state programs.

- Commercial banks and microfinance organizations will be allowed to increase the amount of unsecured microloans up to 300 million soums, granted to small enterprises up to 100 million soums, from their own resources, within the framework of the Comprehensive Program of Continuous Support for Small Business. The refinancing or provision of guarantees for unsecured microloans will remain in place.

By 1 November 2024, measures will be taken to facilitate prepayment for electricity and natural gas for entrepreneurs, to increase contractual limits on electricity and natural gas consumption, and to reduce by at least ten times the additional charges for electricity and natural gas consumed beyond the contractual limits.
