Uzbekistan Recorded 900,000 Fake Jobs in 2024, Prosecutor General Reports
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Official reports for 2024 include 900,000 jobs that were not actually created, Prosecutor General Nigmatilla Yuldashev stated.
He emphasized that the identified violations go beyond typical “padding” of statistics: documents recorded 78 cases of wage theft totaling 12 billion soums.
Experts note that such falsifications affect more than just statistical indicators. Hundreds of thousands of citizens were formally listed as employed, while these figures were used as state-level achievements.
