Uzbekistan receives awards at the international film festival in Minsk

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Listapad International Film Festival, which took place in the capital of Belarus from 7 to 11 November, has summed up its results. In total, more than 40 countries and about 100 films took part in the film festival.

At the closing ceremony, Uzbekistan received 4 awards.

The Listapad Film Festival prize "For the best director" was awarded to Shukhrat Makhmudov’s film "Unbroken". The film is dedicated to the feat and courage of 101 Uzbek soldiers in the German camp "Amersfoort" during the Second World War.

The film "The Fate of a Woman" ("Ayol kismati") directed by Dilmurod Masaidov received a special prize of the film festival "For the relevance of the theme of humanism and universal values." The film tells the story of a woman who is deceived by militants in Syria and goes through a difficult path to liberation.

It is worth noting that this month the film also received the Grand Prix “Best Feature Film” at the Korkut-ata International Film Festival in Turkey.

The film directed by Akrom Shakhnazarov "101th Flight" was awarded a special award "Cinema Language - the Language of Friendship" by the interstate television and radio company "Mir".

At a working meeting of cinematographers of the CIS countries, the Director General of the Cinematography Agency of Uzbekistan Firdavs Abdukhalikov was awarded a diploma of the CIS Executive Committee "For personal contribution to the development of cooperation between the CIS member states in the field of cinematography".

It should be added that Uzbekistan is recognized as the leader in terms of the number of co-products produced among the CIS countries.

It was unanimously decided to place the headquarters of the International Creative Alliance of Cinematographers of the CIS countries under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in Tashkent.
