Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed the law on the ratification of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Convention No. 132 on Paid Annual Leave (revised in 1970), adopted on 24 June 1970, in Geneva.
The convention aims to further strengthen workers’ rights in labor relations, particularly the right to rest and to use paid leave. It mandates the provision of leave each year with job security and average wage retention, promoting workers’ recovery and well-being.
To date, 38 countries have ratified this convention.
Ratifying this convention will enhance Uzbekistan’s image in international and regional organizations, improving its standing in global rankings and indices. It represents a crucial step towards the effective implementation of international standards concerning workers’ rights to rest and paid leave.
