Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan ranked 106th out of 193 countries in the Human Development Index (HDI) according to the UN Development Program for 2022.
Compared to 2021, the country dropped one position.
The Human Development Index is calculated based on indicators such as life expectancy, expected and actual years of education, and gross national income per capita at purchasing power parity.
Uzbekistan’s HDI level was 0.727 with a maximum value of 1.000, which places the country in the high HDI category.
Kazakhstan ranked 67th in the index, Turkmenistan - 97th, Kyrgyzstan - 117th and Tajikistan - 126th.
Switzerland, Norway and Iceland are the top three in the index.
