Uzbekistan Ranked Among the World’s Safest Countries by Numbeo
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The analytics platform Numbeo has released its updated ranking of the world’s safest countries and territories for 2025. Based on crime and safety indices, Uzbekistan secured an impressive 25th place.
The ranking is compiled using user-submitted responses that assess levels of crime, safety during the day and night, risk of theft, assault, harassment, and the severity of property and violent crimes.
Two main indicators are used in the calculations — the Crime Index and the Safety Index — both of which range from 0 to 100. A higher Safety Index indicates a greater level of security.
As of 2025, Uzbekistan achieved a Safety Index score of 73.4 and a Crime Index score of 26.6, reflecting a low level of crime. This placed the country ahead of its regional neighbors: Kazakhstan ranked 73rd with a score of 54.4, while Kyrgyzstan came in 101st with a score of 48.
The top spot in the global ranking went to the United Arab Emirates, followed by Andorra and Qatar. The countries with the highest levels of crime included Haiti, Papua New Guinea, and Venezuela.
It is noted that Numbeo’s data is based on the subjective perceptions of respondents and does not constitute official statistics. Nevertheless, the ranking is considered one of the largest open-source databases in the world concerning quality of life and safety.
