Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan Temir Yullari (Uzbekistan Railways) has announced a tender for the purchase of 40 modern high-speed electric trains, according to the "Uzbekistan 24" TV channel.
The new trains will connect Tashkent with nearby cities.
"The new trains will transport passengers on the Tashkent – Angren, Tashkent – Bekabad, Tashkent – Keles, and Tashkent – Jizzakh routes," said Fozil Sharipov, head of the "Uztemiryulovchi" department.
The upgrade of the train fleet is expected to be an important step in the development of the country's rail transport network. The delivery timelines and commissioning details for the new trains will be announced after the completion of the tender.
