Uzbekistan produces 390,000 tonnes of cotton0-fiber in 1Q 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) --
Production of cotton-fiber in Uzbekistan decreased by 2.7% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2010 to 390,000 tonnes, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
The committee said that Uzbekistan produced 4.5 million square meters of non-woven materials like fabric in the reporting period, which is 41.8% more year-on-year.
Production of knitwork in Uzbekistan grew by 28.7% year-on-year in January-March 2011 and made up 16.3 million units.
In the reporting period, the enterprises of Uzbekistan produced 4,321 tonnes of stockinet, which grew by 33.3% year-on-year.
Production of raw silk threats grew by 85.2% to 53,700 tonnes, carpets and carpet products – by 2.2% to 140,000 square meters. Uzbekistan manufactured 412,800 square meters of silk fabrics (+34.9%).
