Receiving Vietnamese ambassador to Uzbekistan Le Van Toan after he presented his credentials on 30 November, President Karimov highlighted the Vietnamese people’s heroic struggle and industriousness and stressed that Viet Nam and Uzbekistan have always supported each other in national defence and construction as well as on international forum. The two countries should further promote cooperation in economy, culture, education, tourism, science and technology, he said.

Ambassador Toan said that Viet Nam will strive its utmost to strengthen and develop the friendly and cooperative ties with Uzbekistan, particularly in economy, culture, science and technology and education.

The diplomat conveyed President Nguyen Minh Triet’s best wishes to President Karimov and wished Uzbekistan people greater achievements in national development, contributing to peace and stability in the region.
