Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belgium, together with the Belgian travel company Silk Voyage, presented the national stand of Uzbekistan at the Waagnatie exhibition center in the Belgian city of Antwerp at the annual tourist fair Verre Reisen, popular among Flanders tourists, held on 12-13 October.

This year, it presents tourist destinations in more than 50 countries of the world. The event was the first tourist event for the sale of holiday packages for 2020 in the Benelux countries in the season that began, and served as a good platform for the presentation of tourist opportunities in our country.

In particular, visitors to the Uzbek stand were able to learn about the accelerated development of the tourism sector in Uzbekistan, its huge tourism opportunities, as well as the legal aspects of traveling to the republic. The stand demonstrated documentaries produced by TV5 Monde, Euronews and State Committee for Development of Tourism, telling about the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, unique architectural sights of the republic and folk and applied art.

Belgian tourists visiting the Uzbek exposition were attracted by such destinations as Karakalpakstan, Surkhandarya and Namangan regions, as well as the traditionally popular historical cities of Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.

The Antwerp fair once again confirmed the Belgians’ growing interest in acquaintance with the history, culture, traditions and customs of the peoples living along the route of the Silk Road, in which Uzbekistan occupies a special place.
