Uzbekistan postpones driver’s license requirement for scooter riders until 1 October
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has postponed the enforcement of the requirement for drivers of mopeds and scooters to hold a valid driver’s license until 1 October. This decision is outlined in a resolution issued by the Cabinet of Ministers.
The regulation was originally scheduled to take effect on 1 March.
As a reminder, in July 2024, Uzbekistan introduced mandatory state registration for mopeds and scooters in accordance with a government decree.
License plate issuance began on 26 December at registration and examination offices.
The Road Safety Service has clarified that all mopeds, scooters, and electric scooters must be registered by the specified date. Drivers of these vehicles are required to hold a category A driver’s license.
