Uzbekistan, Poland to expand economic cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Fifth session of the Uzbek-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation was held in Warsaw, Poland, Jahon news agency reported.

Representatives of ministries and department of two states participated at the work of the session. An Uzbek-Polish business forum as well as bilateral talks and meetings were held.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged opinion on modern state and perspectives of development of economic cooperation, strengthening relations in various areas of industry, agriculture, finances and tourism. The sides affirmed their readiness to search new opportunities for expanding bilateral interaction.

Andrzej Dycha, Deputy Economy Minister of Poland, said Uzbekistan and Poland successfully implement projects in trade-economic spheres.

He said that Poland hopes that the meeting will allow further expand mutual beneficial relations and the results of the session will serve to this.

Director of department on international cooperation of Polish Finance Minister Elżbieta Fiszer said that economy of Uzbekistan is attractive for Polish businesses in the view of accessing to other markets. She said that the Polish governmental programmes support Polish firms to conduct business in Uzbekistan through providing financial guarantees and credit lines.

General Council of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland Zofia Krzyżanowska said that Poland and Uzbekistan should develop ties in agriculture as it meets interest of two states. She said that cooperation in husbandry, plant-growing, cooperation of scientific-research institutes are perspective directions for interaction.

Representative of Ministry of Tourism of Poland V. Eymand said that the sides are working on increasing mutual tourists’ inflow. He highly rated efforts of Uzbekistan to develop tourism in the country.

During the session, the Polish side familiarized with modern social-economic development of Uzbekistan, reforms in the country, modernization of industry, conditions created for foreign investors, including Navoi free industrial and economic zone and Angren special industrial zone.

In the result of the session, the sides signed a protocol, which affirms readiness of two states to support expansion of economic relations

Representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan and Poland, as well as financial institutions participated at the Business Forum.
