Uzbekistan plans to satisfy internal demand for writing-books
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to fully satisfy internal demand for writing-books and start to export to neighboring states in 2011, the deputy director-general of the Uzbek Agency for Press and Information (UzAPI) Ruzimat Safaev said in a briefing in Tashkent.

Safaev underlined that the annual demand of Uzbekistan to writing-books in Uzbekistan makes up 200 million units in average. The demand of public, higher and secondary education for writing-books is 140 million units.

He said that the enterprises of Uzbekistan covered 56.2% of internal demand in 2010 and plans fully to satisfy it fully in 2011, as well as to start exports to neighboring states.

In particular, Uzbekistan is plans to start exports of writing-books to Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan, he added.

He stated that 19 enterprises on production of writing-books operate in Uzbekistan. The enterprises produced 112.4 million units of writing-books in 2010, including 36 million units of copy-books, 5.8 million units of drawing-books and 4.7 million rating books.

Safaev said that publishing houses Uzbekistan, Oqituvchi, and publishing house named after Gafur Gulyam, part of the UzAPI system, produced 11.1 million units of products. He added that they plan to increase production to 27 million units in 2011 or increase output by 2.4 times compared to 2010.

Ruzimat Safaev said that the share of state enterprises in production of writing-books is 10%, while other 90% fell to share of private sector.

The UzAPI official said that special standards were developed for production of writing-books in Uzbekistan in line with the governmental resolution from 20 October 2009. He added that the agency created special working group, which develops designs of copy-books.
