Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan is set to develop a Concept for Pension Reform.

On 23 September, the government issued a decree establishing a special working group to prepare this document.

The working group is tasked with conducting a detailed analysis of the current pension system’s functioning, identifying existing issues, and proposing solutions aimed at ensuring the system’s sustainability and strengthening social justice.

The reform will be based on "best practices from abroad."

According to the decree, the concept for the pension reform is to be submitted to the President’s Administration for consideration by 1 March 2025.

Experts from various ministries and agencies, as well as scientific and educational institutions in Uzbekistan, will be involved in the development of the concept, alongside foreign experts and representatives from international organizations.

To facilitate a deeper understanding of the experiences of developed countries, members of the working group will have the opportunity to undertake short-term missions abroad, funded by the State Service Fund, as specified in the decree.
