Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to purchase Chinese electric ambulances worth US$150 million.

According to an agreement signed at an investment forum in Shenzhen between the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Henan Costar Group, electric vehicles will be used for emergency medical services.

It is planned that these electric vehicles will be environmentally friendly and will be able to travel more than 450 km on a single charge. They will also be equipped with everything necessary to provide resuscitation care.

According to plans, Henan Costar Group will also open a plant for maintenance and modification of electric vehicles in Uzbekistan.

In addition, the Uzbek delegation agreed with Chinese companies and financial institutions to invest US$500 million in grant projects based on public-private partnerships, including the reconstruction of primary health care buildings, modernization of equipment and establishment of pharmaceutical production.
