Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirzayev, speaking at the Tashkent Investment Forum, announced plans to significantly increase the country’s export of IT services.

Over the past year, the volume of exports of software products and IT services has doubled, and in the future it is expected to increase it to US$5 billion, the head of state noted.

The President also announced plans to expand the number of residents of the IT park tenfold and create 100 thousand new jobs in the sector. An international digital technology center will be founded, which will become a platform for foreign companies.

As part of the development of the digital economy and technologies based on artificial intelligence, in collaboration with the Saudi company Data Volt, the construction of a data center that will operate on “green” energy begins.

This will give a great impetus to our country’s transition to a digital economy and the introduction of technologies based on artificial intelligence, the President noted.
