Uzbekistan plans to increase production of localized goods by 1.45 times in 2010
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On programme of localization of production of ready products, spare parts and materials based on industrial cooperation for 2010” on 23 March.

The programme wad adopted to stimulate further deepening of production localization considering analyses of the volume and import structure, increasing production of competitive, export-oriented goods, developing and strengthening intra-industry and inter-industry industrial cooperation.

The document approved the programme on localization of production of ready products, spare parts and materials based on industrial cooperation for 2010. Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investments and Trade, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, State Demonopolization Committee in cooperation with local businesses developed the programme.

The document said targeted parameters of the volume of production and level of localized industrial products for 2010 envisages the growth of localized goods production by 1.34 times.

The programme also included list of ready products, materials and spare parts, which were recommended to produce by the local producers. The list included 195 products.

Uzbek President Islam Karimov also approved the list of new projects, which will be realized within the localization programme. The list consists of about 160 projects, which will be implemented in various sectors of economy.
