Uzbekistan plans to increase fines for violating quiet hours at night

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – During a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on 2 July, in the first reading, a draft law "On Protection of the Population from Harmful Noise Impact" was adopted.

This draft law establishes times during which disturbing the peace and normal rest of citizens is prohibited. Special attention is given to nighttime from 23:00 to 06:00, as well as periods from 22:00 to 09:00 on weekends and public holidays.

The draft law proposes stricter administrative penalties for violating these time frames. Citizens may face fines ranging from 3 to 5 sizes of base estimated value (from 1,020,000 soums to 1,700,000 soums), while officials may be fined from 10 to 15 sizes of base estimated value (from 3,400,000 soums to 5,100,000 soums).

Deputies noted that adopting this draft law will contribute to creating effective legal mechanisms to ensure comfortable living conditions for the population, protect their health, and provide proper rest free from harmful noise impact.
