Uzbekistan plans to increase 9 times potash fertilizers production by 2015
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan is planning to increase nine times production of potash fertilizers by 2015 compared to 2010.

According to the targeted figures of industrial development of Uzbekistan for 2011-2015, Uzbekistan will gradually increase potash fertilizers output from 170,000 tonnes in 2011 to 450,000 tonnes in 2015.

To achieve this target, Uzbekistan plans to implement project on expanding production capacity of Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers (II phase) in 2011-2013.

The cost of the project is US$250 million. The project will be financed due to resources of Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan for US$110 million and Chinese Eximbank for US$125 million. Uzkimyosanoat will also direct own resources to the project,

In the result of the project implementation, the production capacity of Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers will grow from 200,000 tonnes to 600,000 tonnes.

Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers plans to implement project on organization of polyethylene bags in 2012-2013. The project, which is under development now, will make up 10 million units a year. The forecasted cost of the project is US$5 million.

Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers has been commissioned in July 2010. The project capacity of the plant is 200,000 tonnes of product a year. The project cost was US$123.7 million.

Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan allocated US$61.9 million loan, while China’s Eximbank issued US$41.7 million loan to finance the project. Uzkimyosanoat will also direct its own funds to finance the construction.

Uzbekistan started to construct Dehkanabad Plant on Production of Potash Fertilizers in 2007 on the base of Tyubegata potassium salts deposit.
