Uzbekistan plans to complete the construction of two toll roads by 2026

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to complete the construction of two toll highways by 2026. This was reported by the Agency for the Development of Public-Private Partnerships.

According to the agency, the construction of the Tashkent-Andijan and Tashkent-Samarkand toll roads will be completed by 2026.

Currently, the preparation and study of documentation for five major projects that are planned to be implemented in the transport sector in 2022-2026 continues.

In particular, work is underway to implement the Tashkent-Andijan toll road construction project, implemented with the consulting support of the World Bank, the Tashkent-Samarkand toll road construction project, implemented with the advisory support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

Also, work will be launched on the construction project of a 66 km highway between Samarkand and Shakhrisabz and a 4.4 km tunnel at the Takhtakoracha pass.

Projects are being studied for the modernization and management of Tashkent city and regional international airports and for the modernization and management of international airports in Bukhara and Urgench.
