Uzbekistan Opens Logistics Hub at Riga Port
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A new warehouse complex has been opened in the port area of Riga with the participation of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, JSC Savdoni rivojlantirish kompaniyasi and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Latvia. The facility is designed for storage, processing and product labeling and also includes showrooms, the ministry said.
The complex will serve as a regional logistics hub for distributing products from Uzbek manufacturers to the markets of the Baltic states and Europe. The new infrastructure is expected to expand export opportunities and strengthen Uzbekistan’s position in the European Union market.
As part of the opening, B2B meetings were also held with the participation of around 20 domestic exporters, logistics companies and business representatives from Uzbekistan and Latvia. Participants discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation and logistics chains.
In addition, a retail outlet operating under the “Uzbek Bazar” brand has begun operations at Riga Central Market, offering food products from Uzbekistan.
The project is viewed as a tool for diversifying export destinations and developing sustainable channels for promoting Uzbek products in European markets.
