Uzbekistan, Oman created joint business council
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) and Uzbekistan’s Commerce and Industry Chamber signed an agreement to establish the Omani-Uzbeki Businessmen Council.

The agreement was signed on behalf of the Omani side by Khalil bin Abdullah Al Khonji, chairman of OCCI, and from Uzbeki side by Ali Sheer Shaikhouf, chairman of Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Al Khonji said that the agreement reflects the earnest desire of the private sectors in both countries to establish a joint economic and investment cooperation. Salim bin Mohammed Al Shanfari, will be leading the Omani side at the businessmen council, he added.

The agreement signing ceremony was attended by Ahmed bin Abdulnabi Macki, minister of national economy and deputy chairman of the Financial Affairs and Energy Resources Council and his accompanying delegation.

It was also attended from the Uzbeki side by Rustum Azimov, the first deputy prime minister and finance minister, Elyor Ganiev, minister of external economic relations, investments and trade, the minister of economy and a number of Uzbek’s officials.
